Human Rights Policy

Version 1.0. Approved by the board of directors of Clever Kombucha Ltd on 22 October 2026. Next review October 2027.

Purpose and scope

This policy sets out our commitment to respecting human rights across our own operations and our value chain. It applies to all directors, employees, workers and contractors of You + I, and sets the expectations we hold for our suppliers and business partners.

Our commitment

You + I is committed to respecting all internationally recognised human rights. We align our approach with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights, and the International Labour Organization core conventions on fundamental rights at work.

We do not tolerate forced labour, child labour, modern slavery, human trafficking, discrimination, harassment, or the denial of freedom of association in any part of our business or supply chain.

Where our most significant risks sit

As a small organic drinks manufacturer, we have assessed where our salient human rights risks are most likely to arise:

Our own operations

  • Fair pay, safe working conditions, reasonable hours and fair treatment for our brewery and fulfilment team.
  • Health and safety in a production environment with equipment, gas and chemicals.

Our value chain

  • Agricultural inputs such as tea, sugar and botanicals, which can carry labour-rights risks in growing and processing regions.
  • Glass packaging and logistics, where working conditions and labour standards can vary by supplier.

The most relevant salient issues across these areas are fair wages, working hours, health and safety, and the risk of forced or child labour in agricultural supply chains.

How we act (due diligence)

  • Identify and assess. We map our suppliers and assess where human rights risks are most likely, prioritising agricultural inputs and higher-risk regions.
  • Set expectations. We ask key suppliers to meet the standards in this policy through a supplier code of conduct, and we favour certified sources (for example organic and recognised ethical certifications) where available.
  • Act and track. Where we identify a risk or concern, we work with the supplier to address it, and we keep a record of the issues raised and the action taken.
  • Communicate. We are open about our approach and report on progress as part of our B Corp commitments.

Raising concerns and remediation

Anyone, including workers, suppliers, customers and members of the public, can raise a human rights concern with us in confidence. Concerns can be raised with a director or through the contact channel published on our website. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Where we have caused or contributed to an adverse impact, we will seek to provide for or cooperate in remediation.

Governance and responsibilities

The board of directors owns this policy. A named director is responsible for human rights, for overseeing due diligence, and for reporting progress to the board. All employees are responsible for following this policy and for raising concerns.

Review

This policy is reviewed at least annually and updated as our business and supply chain change.

Raise a concern

You can raise a concern with us in confidence by emailing hello@youandi.co, or by contacting a director through our contact page.
